Strawberry Lime Sangria

I remember as a kid, the Friday night TV line up was something to look forward to all week. T.G.I.F. couldn’t get any better. Who could resist Uncle Jesse and an awesome block of his antics?

When I hit high school, Tuesdays became the night. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and later Angel and I was beyond sold. I’m pretty sure I refused to speak to my boyfriend on Tuesday nights from 8 to 10.

These days, Damon Salvatore has far surpassed Angel. Sorry, Angel. My allegiances lie with Damon for life. Really, does it get any better than hot and smoldering and slightly dangerous while also sweet and brooding? I didn’t think so.

Either way, during the summer months, I’m stuck watching repeats or crappy reality shows. Not my first choice. I need something to get me through. And so I turn to tasty foods and delicious drinks, like this strawberry lime sangria. Oh yum. Sangria is always a treat, especially when the temperatures go up. I love the sweetness of the strawberry combined with citrusy lime flavor. This is currently topping the list as my favorite sangria.

I think I’ll just have a glass while thinking about Damon and his fall TV return…
