Skip out on store-bought and make your own homemade lemon-lime soda. The results are far superior and the flavors are much more pronounced and delicious.
Lately, my seltzer water drinking habits have come under much scrutiny. Some would say that I’m “obsessed”. And I sort of take offense to that because it’s water. So what’s the big deal? I think what annoys about my habit is the loud gulping sound I make or perhaps the constant burping but hey, I’m human! I love the fizziness of it and I’m not apologizing. I also love the versatility of it. A little fizzy water goes a long way when it comes to dressing up drinks. Take, for example, this homemade lemon-line soda. Yes, you can certainly buy some but it will never taste like homemade.
It’s really simple to make. A bunch of fresh lemon juice and some fresh lime juice along with some simple syrup and fizzy water and you’ve got a much better, fresher version of soda at your disposal. I can’t be bothered buying my own from the store anymore, since this allows you to really customize. For me, I like tweaking it with less simple syrup and more citrus juice to give me a big tarty flavor kick. But of course, if you are a fan of sweets, you can load it up with simple syrup. It’s a great change from the store-bought stuff, for sure.
