Pasta A La Vodka

Well, that was fun. Disconnecting, be it on purpose or on accident, is actually somewhat satisfying. While our cable/internet was out, we played board games, soaked up sun, beached it, learned a few new card games and avoided emails. Avoiding emails is probably one of my new favorite things to do. Unless, you know, they are necessary and important. Or fun. Or filled with deals and coupons.

Moving on. I was trying to decide what type of recipe to share upon my return to the connected world. There was a yummy granola bar that was worth sharing. And some mozzarella stuffed peppadews that are really asking to be shared before summer really ends. And there was lemon ricotta raviolis made from scratch. But then, there was this pasta a la vodka. It was another one of those quick and easy deals. Thirty minutes, at most, and you’ve got a flavorful pasta dish that pleases just about everyone. I knew I wanted to share this one soon, so why not now?

Typically, penne is used. I, however, am a big fan of rigatoni and thus used that instead. Really, you could use just about any pasta you choose. The secret is in the sauce (and for those Fried Green Tomatoes lovers out there, it is just sauce… Nothing additional). It’s a snap to make and requires few ingredients. Toss in some red pepper flakes for an added punch, if you want. But really, try this soon!

  1. This looks like such a great quick meal that everyone at the table will love! And goodness.. lemon ricotta raviolis.. that sounds amazing!

  2. I LOVE pasta with vodka sauce, but I rarely make it for myself. Thanks for this great recipe — it reminds me that I need to add this back into my weekday dinner rotation. I’m all about meals that are ready in 30 minutes or less, so this is just what I’m looking for!

    • If you are looking for thirty minutes or less, this is definitely a good choice! We need fast meals these days, so hectic during the school year! :)

  3. Pure comfort food in a pasta dish! Love this, Kim. The only difference between my plate and yours is that mine would be swimming in the sauce and covered in Parmesan, haha!

  4. What a great way to get back online… this pasta looks amazing!! :) I heard once that this is the “make him marry you” pasta… because if he hasn’t married you yet… he will want to after eating this. :)

PS… I hate to bother you…. but I would appreciate if you could please vote for my burger (you can vote 3x in a row a day until September 17th) It’s the Grand Slam Burger by Curry and Comfort. The link to vote is here: http://www.goodcook.com/index.php?main_page=burger_contest&category=all_beef

    • I’ve heard the same, make him marry you pasta! I’ve also heard it with a roast chicken. Unfortunately, I can’t test it since I’m already married but I’d really like someone to try it!

P.S. Not a bother at all! Of course I’ll vote! :)

  5. I don’t know that I’ve ever truly disconnected before but that’s just proof that I am LONG overdue!!

Vodka sauce = one of my favorites. This looks so good.
